Novabench App Reviews

This is an extremely simple to use, and fast benchmark. It is also very easy to compare your results to others -- all you have to do is create and account which takes less than a minute. Very nice application I recommend everyone download it and compare your Macs!

It gives you the info you see on the app screenshot above - thats all, and thats enough. A nice simple system performance test utility - you can see how your Mac compares to others.

Works well, quick little test to compare systems. Funny how the screen shot shows 10.6.5 of course its from before the app store but i like that:)

Great if you want to compare with similar systems, or see in a flash where you stand.

This app works as intended. I intend to use it in a near future to make sure there is nothing slowing down my Macbook by compraing results Otherwise, all macs are pretty much the same so I wont really be comparing my results with a friend, let alone my own PC !

The application itself gave me a score, but the number is useless without something to compare it against and since the NovaBench website seems to be down (at least for the past few hours), I cant submit my results or compare against other results. Ill try again later and may revise my rating if NovaBench is back up and running again.

Cool…but my graphics score is very low because of vsync. Also, a minor thing: the progress bars never reach 100%; they always cut off at around 90%!

Its very usefull app to see your hardware performance.You dont need to pay money like on Geekbench!

The application says that i have an i7 2.0GHz, but my processor is an i7 2.2 GHz

the diescription states that it is possible to compare results. I can only compare with top results and no details are visible. Whats the point? I need to compare with the results from another similar machine and see if there is something wrong with my memory or hard drive

A quick benchmarking tool for Mac that doesnt take an hour to run, and gives you a quick comparison to other system. Great for troubleshooting and optimizing. Thanks!

A great utility for comparing one system to another, or your system to itself over time. Information detailed enough to give you some technical info without the cost of a 20 minute bechmark.

How the iMacs whith different specs can get exat same score?? Intel Core i7, 2.8Ghz, GF GT 330M, 8Gb RAM - got 809 Intel Core i3, 3.06Ghz, Radion HD 4670, 4Gb RAM - got 809!

This is a pretty decent benchmark system. Ive used geekbench in the past. I really like how easy it is to compare my system with other systems. I was interested to see that my i7 iMac is twice as fast as the i7 MacBook Pro. Apple really needs to get a Pro MacBook Pro with a quadcore. It was also cool to see that the fastest computer out there is a six core Mac Pro. Be careful on the NovaBench website though, its covered with ads that are easy to click accidentally.

It is a good little tool to check how good your computer is running. However, a nice thing to have would be the optimal scores for each test with the hardware that you have so you know how far off of good your computer is. That keeps it from getting 5 stars, but other than that, it is good. Get it if you want to know how well your computer is doing.

Test looks good but its only showing one processor in the test. I have Mac Pro Quad Core Dual Processor (Total 8 Processors). I hope they fix that soon.

The utility works as advertised, but has another test that isnt in the description. Allows a local record to be created and saved. Gives basic info about your mac, proc, memory and GPU info. Internet speed test is not native. They use AuditIP for an internet speed test that is not defined in the app description, and the application should inform the user that the application is going to launch a browser website to conduct the test. When selecting the option transmit results and compare with other records, it times out. This is important and should be fixed as soon as possible. This application has 5 star potential. Unil the database comparison is working and the application informs the user that the internet test will launch a browser, (the users choice of browser, not necessarily Safari) to complete the test, Ill have to go with 3 until the next release. EDIT: connectivity restored. 4 stars.

Simple to use, 1 click benchmarking! Allows for comparing of our Results online with others.

Its a nice little benchmark but like another user, I discovered it only reports 4 cores for my system (I really have 8). Hope this gets fixed quickly.
